8 days tour from Marrakech and back to Marrakech
Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech- Marrakech
After breakfast we go to the touristic capital, Marrakech, with a local guide. Accommodation in a hotel.
Day 2: Marrakech -Telouat - Ait Ben Haddou- Ouarzazate
After breakfast we head for the High Atlas through the port of Tizi Ntichka (2,260metres high), passing by different Berber villages and we will arrive at the kasbah of Telouet and the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, UNESCO World Heritage site. Free time to visit the kasbah and lunch. Then we continue to Ouarzazate. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.
Day 3: Ouarzazate- Sakoura- The Rose Valley – Dades Gorge
After breakfast we will visit the city of Ouarzazate, which is considered the door of the great desert, and the starting point of big expeditions.
It is worth visiting the kasbah of Taourirt, and the Palace of El Glaoui (the great Pacha of Southern Morocco). Ouarzazate is also a noted film-making location, the “African Hollywood”.
Then, we will continue to the Rose Valley, visiting the palm grove of Skoura. In the afternoon, we will go to the Dades Gorge. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.
Day 4: Dades – Todra Gorge– Merzouga
We will travel along a road full of different kasbahs. After several stops, we will get to one of the most amazing spots of the South – the Todra Gorge.
There the Todra River has formed a big canyon with vertical walls - 322 metres high of absolute beauty. This is the paradise for mountain climbers. A unique place.
Then, we will continue to the South, have lunch and get to the desert and the wonderful dunes of Merzouga.
Free time to go hiking in the dunes and watch the sunset. After dinner, a Berber music show is awaiting us, with authentic Berber drums. Accommodation in the hotel.
Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani- Merzouga
Today we have the shortest leg of our trip but full of surprises! We will discover the amazing Erg Chebbi, the only two-color desert. Our adventure continues and we will cross the sands to visit the original people from Mali.
At noon, we arrive in Rissani, the second imperial city of Morocco, visit the great Souk. It is the most famous market of the South because in the past it was here where the commercial caravans from the rest of Africa made their first stop.
Here we get the chance to eat the typical Berber pizza. In the afternoon we will go back to Erg Chebbi for a dromedary ride and cross the dunes to observe a fantastic desert sunset and spend an extraordinary night in the heart of the desert. Dinner and accommodation in a nomad haima.
Day 6: Merzouga – Zagoura
In the morning we go back to the hotel with the dromedary. Breakfast and a shower at the hotel, and we say goodbye to the desert!
Next destination, Zagoura and the Draa Valley, Morocco’s biggest valley. We will pass by different little Berber villages and kasbahs, in the middle of dramatic sceneries.
We will reach our destination in the afternoon, where we will have dinner and stay in a hotel.
Day 7: Zagoura - Marrakech
After breakfast, we will cross the magnificent Draa Valley to Ouarzazate, and contemplate the palm trees, the Berber village of Agdz and the Anti Atlas (1,660 metres high).
Stops to take photos are mandatory. We will cross the Tichka pass and in the afternoon we will arrive in the Red City, Marrakech. End of the trip.
Day 8: Marrakesh - Casablanca
We will be leaving in the morning and head back to Casablanca where our tour have started.
